Character
Name: Oogami Sakura
Series: Dangan Ronpa
Timeline: Post Chapter 4
Canon Resource Links: http://danganronpa.wikia.com/wiki/Sakura_Oogami
Personality: Sakura was nicknamed “The Ogre” by various online communities after she enrolled at Hope’s Peak, though she is anything but! She carries the title of “Super High School Level Fighter”, and with 400 consecutive wins under her belt, she can certainly back it up. Sakura doesn’t use this to intimidate people at all- she keeps her fighting strictly in official places such as tournaments and competitions. Outside of the ring she is well mannered and speaks rather formally. This tends to throw most people because of her appearance and deep voice. Before she attended Hope’s Peak, Sakura had a lover named Kenichi who she could not defeat in the ring- the only person she could not defeat. He died unexpectedly, and his death lead Sakura to fight and train even more seriously, resulting in her current physique. Sakura has a great enthusiasm for physical activity, whether it’s working out, or partaking in non competition sports and games with her classmates. Because of this, she is especially close with Asahina, often spending her free time with the swimmer.
Sakura tends to be levelheaded, yet aware of her own limitations. When the murders start happening, she always volunteers to guard the scene of the crime from tampering, knowing that while she wants to help solve the mystery, she is no good at detective work. During the school trials, she listens to all the evidence presentation and testimony without interrupting, unlike many of the other students. She would always want to hear both sides of every story before making any sort of judgement.
Sakura is very protective of her friendships and friends. She absolutely abhors the idea of the “High School of Mutual Killing”, and feels powerless to stop her friends from falling victim. She even goes as far as to become a mole for Monobear, providing him and the mastermind with information- not to betray her friends, but to keep anyone else from dying. This failed horribly, and, when Monobear revealed her as the mole, turned most of the others against her. In order to restore some sort of order, and prevent them from committing more murders, Sakura found no other choice but to kill herself after opening a locked area by force- leaving a letter behind not asking for forgiveness, but hoping that her opening the area might help her friends and maybe redeem a small amount of her actions as the mole.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Sakura’s most noticeable strength is definitely her physical strength. She’s trained her body to the point where she is completely covered in muscle. Her undefeated 400 win streak is nothing to sneeze at either. What most don’t gather from a first impression, though, is just how kind and caring a person she is. Sakura treasures each and every one of her friends and friendships, which is why the only way she found she could atone to them for being the mole was to end her own life, rather than someone else’s be taken because of her actions. Sakura is also very determined in her goals, she has a workout routine she goes through every day, and can become somewhat distraught when she can’t complete it. She has a workout routine for various situations, but prefers to use traditional equipment to do so.
Though she is physically very strong, mentally Sakura tends to fall somewhat short. While no means stupid, things can sometimes go over her head, such as many of the details in the various cases. Sakura tends to see things as they stand, often not bothering to look deeper, and regrets not doing so when what she thinks is proved wrong or entirely different. She is also exploited by the mastermind into becoming the mole, thinking she’ll protect her friends by doing so. This of course leads back to her regret- her sense of regret being so deep that she kills herself to try to atone for her actions as the mole while protecting her friends from another murder at the same time.
Pokémon Information
Affiliation: Trainer
Starter: I would like for Sakura to start with Riolu, because, like Sakura the Lucario line may be classed as “Fighting” but it’s aura abilities make it so much deeper a Pokemon. Like Sakura, this Pokemon has a tough and even somewhat frightening [mostly Lucario] appearance, yet, is gentle and kind to it’s friends, though it will not hesitate to fight and use it’s strength when needed. I hope that makes sense. x.X

Samples
First Person Sample: ?! Ah, it’s online now. My apologies- while I do know the basics of most electronics, the more advanced they are, the more trouble I seem to have with them. I’ve never cared much for such things regardless- I suppose if I did I would be more like Chihiro-kun...
Ah, apologies again, I’ve digressed from my reason for coming online. I seem to have awoken in a strange house, not anything like Hope’s Peak Academy. A woman claiming to be my mother proceeded to shove me out the door and...outside. I was so shocked- I admit I was shaking for quite some time. Not only am I outside of the school, I am also...
No, this is not the place. Please, my name is Oogami Sakura. If anyone can hear this, could you please tell me any information you might know about this place, or Hope’s Peak Academy? I....I must know if they were able to escape!
Third Person Sample: The sunlight seemed almost too bright to Sakura, hitting her eyes as she was unceremoniously kicked out of “mom’s” house. The woman was clearly insane, but seemed harmless enough to Sakura. There were far more pressing matters to attend to anyway. The most pressing, of course was the fact that she seemed to be quite...alive.
Sakura sat herself on a nearby rock.
“How am I living yet?” she thought, watching the trees sway gently in the wind. This couldn’t be the afterlife, could it? She felt just as she had before taking the poison, somewhat weak yet, but definitely healthy. There was one way to find out. Standing again, she punched the rock she had been sitting on with all her might, cracking it in several places. A twinge of pain shot up her arm through her knuckles, which, upon examining, she found bleeding from the punch.
No, this was definitely not the afterlife. The next task was to examine her belongings and the bag she had been given. Sakura found she still had her Student ID card, though, the electronic function of it was no longer working. She also had some sports bandages and protein supplements- gifts from Naegi. She smiled sadly, using the bandages to cover her bleeding knuckles before looking in the bag. There were various articles of spare clothing and what appeared to be travel supplies inside, however, the most important thing was the cell phone. Well, at least it appeared to be a cell phone. It certainly was strangely shaped, but there was nothing else such a device could be. With this, she could contact other people, surely they weren’t all crazy like the woman who’s home she had woken up in. Yes, with this she could find out where she was, and maybe even get help for her friends.
